BLOOMING
Completed in 2018, Blooming is a fresh abstract sculpture by Shan Shan Sheng. A series of vividly colorful organic columns fabricated from architectural art glass, Blooming is monumental, It reflects the transformation of the Shenzhen skyline into groundbreaking, surprising forms. Blooming is inspired by Shenzhen's unique moment and history, as a place of fabrication, craft, and digital, as a portal shaping China's present and future. Consisting of nearly 500 glass panels, 29ft high, 25ft wide and 23ft long, dazzling colors bring dynamic visual impact. LED lighting are integrated into each panel, choreographed and synchronized with original music, viewers can interactive with a mobile app.
OPEN WALL
“Open Wall” is a large-scale glass installation reinterpreting a section of the great wall for the 2009 Venice Biennale. “Open Wall” was produced out of 2,200 inscribed handmade Murano glass bricks. The installation re-establishes the Great Wall of China into a contemporary context and serves to illuminate China's emerging role in a global context.
COSMOS
Alibaba is at the heart of China's tech hub and we create a suspension sculpture that is equally forward-facing. The artwork is, in its very nature, the definition of innovation and a perfect example of the future-focused ethos of the city. COSMOS is futuristic and emulates the maverick spirit that drives Alibaba to explore and expand humankind beyond our world, into the exciting unknown. It evokes curiosity about the world in which we live and inspires entrepreneurship and innovation.
OBELISK
"Obelisk" represents a fusion of past and present, a bridge between the enduring echoes of antiquity and the modern world. The obelisk, a symbol of power, spirituality, and cultural achievement, has transcended the boundaries of time and geography, captivating the imagination for millennia. This sculpture serves as a tribute to that enduring fascination and seeks to rekindle a connection to the rich tapestry of human history.
Twenty-Four Solar Terms
The piece has a diameter of twenty-eight feet and weighs three tons. On every two pieces of glass, Chinese Calligraphy is used to delineate a solar term as interpreted by the artist. Nearly 50 pieces of art glass are arranged in a rising spiral shape. The continuous curve panels mimic the sky, the universe, the river… and represent the twenty-four solar terms in time and space. The unique color changes in accordance with the essence of Chinese traditional culture flowing in the long river of history.
Open Door
Open Door is an illuminated portal, a door of vivid, colored glass. It is a symbol of a bright transformation and adventure that begins with a creative, innovative education. Measuring 15 feet high, 8 feet across, and 2 feet deep, Open Door acts as a visual and thematic counterpart to Wave of Knowledge. Wave of Knowledge acts as an inspirational metaphor, suggesting a beautiful educational journey and boundless exploration expressed in a bright gradient of color. Wave of Knowledge measures 14 feet high, 150 feet long, and 2 inches thick.

It is the visual and thematic counterpart of the outdoor sculpture Open Door, Wave of Knowledge measures 14 feet high, 150 feet long, and 2 inches thick.
Dancing Ribbons
Dancing Ribbons is a massive glass suspension sculpture located within the International Finance Center II in Hong Kong, China. Based on modern Chinese ribbon dancing, the sculpture serves to welcome the international visitor to the space. The many colors and the interweaving of the ribbons with the structure is representative of the many world cultures that collaborate within the building.
Convergence
Convergence is a new sculpture in Cleaveland, Ohio. Convergence is where the sky meets the sun in an interplay of light and color.
Obelisk
Installed at Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, Florida. As Obelisks of Yesterday illustrated the tales of their time, so does this Obelisk reflect the story of contemporary Jacksonville. The artwork creates a connection between the Earth and the skies in a visually striking (and classical) form. The base of the sculpture chronicles the narrative of Jacksonville within the present day, from its history as a temperate film mecca to its strategic military significance.
The artwork is an ancient form translated into modern glass and metal materials, enhanced further with an interplay of color and light. The artwork will be an area of high impact, becoming a central moment in the day and night, for reflection, contemplation, and rejuvenation.
The artwork depicts the milestones of people and activities that capture the legacy of today's Jacksonville.
Celestial Fantasy
Celestial Fantasy is a forward-looking sculpture that will highlight and represent the rapid growth and transformation of downtown Fremont. The sculpture abstractly interprets clouds and celestial elements, encouraging the viewer to look up towards the sky and envision a new and prosperous future.
BUD
BUD is a sculpture created for the new silk road district in the ancient city of Xi’an, an extension of the ancient silk road from Xi’an to Venice, following Marco Polo’s path. BUD represents the birth of brand new development for the ancient city with 3,000 years of history.
DNA
Influenced by the double helix structure of DNA, the installation engages the space with a powerful statement that reminds students, staff, and visitors of the building blocks of life. The architectural art glass is 55 feet high by 18 feet wide. The suspension sculpture consists of 52 pieces of cold cast glass panels. This suspension project forms a dynamic, double helix shape which is presented throughout the entire building.
Pan American Blues
Pan American Blues is inspired by a soundwave from the song "Pan American Blues" performed by Country Music Hall of Fame member DeFord Bailey. In 1926, Bailey was the first musician/black performer to be introduced on The Grand Ole Opry, a historic moment that would launch him to country music stardom. He continued to become one of the most popular country and blues performers and helped to define a genre during a pre-civil rights era America.

Rhythm of Wind
Rhythm of Wind is a Land Art piece utilizing repurposed metal material. The rods are erected in a curvilinear formation in the vast field, suggesting the flow and cadence of wind patterns. The work seeks to imbue characteristics of nature into man-made materials, as a reminder of our part and place in the larger scope of the environment.
Earth Iron
Earth Iron is a new series of sculptures, public works assembled from recycled and surplus materials in the natural yet industrial landscape of contemporary China. Earth Iron explores the possibility of recycled material in the landscape surrounding our urban centers. How can public art sculpture create new monuments, new experiences of this discarded material? This initial project, part of a larger installation series, was recently completed while in residency at Shantou University's public art design program in December 2014-January 2015.
